Men’s & Women’s Track & Field to Compete at Columbia Challenge

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's & women's track & field teams will resume their indoor seasons at the Columbia University Challenge on Saturday, January 25 inside the Armory. A selection student-athletes will also compete at the Upstate Challenge in Ithaca, New York.

Last Time Out For Princeton
The Tigers most recently competed at the Navy Dual on Saturday, on Saturday, January 11 in Annapolis, Maryland. Needing to win both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays to secure the victory, Princeton's women picked up a thrilling 90-87 win over Navy. Despite several strong performances from Princeton's men, the Tigers fell 107-68.
Ivy League Leaders
Princeton has produced several Ivy League-leading performances so far this season. Sam Ellis' time of 2:24.53 seconds in the 1,000-meters tops the conference, as does Gillian Wagner's time of 2:50.53 seconds on the women's side.
Conor Lundy ran a conference-best time of 14:00.33 seconds in the 5,000-meters while the Tigers 4x400 team of Katie DiFrancesco, Milana Malec, Heide Baron and Arianna Smith clocked in at an Ivy-leading time of 3:45.71. The Tigers have also produced the fastest time in the 4x800 relay after the quartet of Abby Loveys, Sophie Cantine, Madeleine Sumner and Gillian Wagner posted a time of 8:57.71 seconds.
In the field events, Jeffrey Hollis' mark of 2.19 meters in the high jump is a conference-best, as is Hanne Borstlap's mark of 4.01 meters in the high jump. C.J. Licata's throw of 18.97 meters in the shot put was also the best in the Ivy League so far.
