No. 9 Women’s Tennis to Host Towson & FDU

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 9 Princeton University women's tennis will host its first home matches of the season Saturday, first taking on Towson University then following against Fairleigh Dickinson University.
The Tigers host Towson at 11 a.m. and the Knights at 3 p.m. inside Jadwin Gymnasium.
Tiger Notes
The Tigers have had a historic season, checking in at No. 9 in the most recent Oracle/ Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national team rankings, moving up from No. 13. The ranking is the Tigers' highest ever in program history.
Princeton is 5-1 on the season, most recently defeating No. 6 Pepperdine University on Sunday, February 13 at the ITA National Indoor Championships in Chicago, Illinois. The match also saw No. 34 Brianna Shvets defeat No. 1 Ashley Lahey, 6-4, 6-4.
Along with Shvets, Zoe Howard is currently ranked No. 71 and Daria Frayman No. 98. In doubles, the team of Frayman and Grace Joyce are ranked No. 47.
Scouting Towson
Towson is 1-5 on the season, most recently falling 5-2 to FDU on Friday, February 7 in Annapolis, Maryland.
Last season the Tigers went 13-13, including a 3-2 record in Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) play.
Scouting FDU
Fairleigh Dickinson is 2-2 on the season, most recently falling 6-1 to Navy on Saturday, February 8 in Annapolis Maryland.
In 2018-19, FDU went 14-9 and had a 5-1 record in Northeast Conference (NEC) play. FDU advanced to the championship match at the NEC Tournament, falling 4-0 to Long Island University.

Princeton will compete at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Alabama, on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22.
