PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Tigers honored its wonderful 2019 season with a banquet at Prospect Garden last night.
Â
The Tigers went 16-5 overall in 2019. During the season, the Tigers registered a 13-game winning streak which was the program's second longest streak ever. Princeton went on to win the Ivy League title and reach the National Championship Game for the fourth time ever.
Â
The team also announced its annual award winners. Grace Brightbrill won the Mari J. Schleuning P'07 Award while Clara Roth won the Thorp van Dusen Goodfellow '41 Award.
Â
The Mari J. Schleuning P07 Award is named for the mother of former assistant coach Nate Franks '07 (pictured) who passed away during the 2006 field hockey season. It was created via the Mari J. Schleuning Field Hockey Endowment fund to recognize a current Tiger and an alumna who have shown a passion and commitment to service.
Â
The Thorp Van Dusen Goodfellow '41 Field Hockey Award is awarded annually to that upperclass player, who by her commitment to field hockey, her loyalty to the team, her high level of skill and her competitive spirit, has demonstrated a great love of the sport, the team and of Princeton.
