No. 5 Women’s Tennis Starts Blue Gray Classic Off Against South Alabama

PRINCETON, N.J. – Play begins tomorrow for the No. 5 Princeton University women's tennis team at the Blue Gray Classic at 12:30 p.m. against the University of South Alabama in Montgomery, Alabama.
Tiger Notes
Princeton's No. 5 ranking is its highest in program history and the highest by an Ivy League women's tennis team.
The Tigers, who are 7-1 on the season and are coming off a pair of 7-0 wins over Towson University and Fairleigh Dickinson University on Saturday, February 15 inside Jadwin Gymnasium, rose four spots from No. 9, its previous highest-ever ranking.
Along with the Tigers' team ranking, three individuals were ranked along with one doubles team. Brianna Shvets moved up to No. 17 from No. 34 while Zoe Howard rose to No. 57 from No. 71. Daria Frayman also checked in at No. 109.
In doubles, Grace Joyce and Frayman were tabbed at No. 23, rising from No. 47
Scouting South Alabama
The Jaguars are 5-3 on the season and in their most recent match defeated Xavier University (Louisiana) on Friday, February 14.
Last season Southern Alabama finished with a 20-4 record and advanced to the championship match of the Sub Belt Championships, falling 4-2 to Georgia State University.
