Men’s Swimming & Diving a Close Second After Day Two at Ivy Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On a day that saw Raunak Khosla win the 200 individual medley for the second-consecutive year and Charlie Minns set a new school championship record in the 1-meter diving, the Princeton University men's swimming & diving team ended day two at the Ivy League Championships in second place.
With 450 points the Tigers sit in second, trailing only Harvard University who is first with 489 points. Princeton is over 100 points clear of the third-placed team, Yale University, who has 333.5 points.
200 IM
Khosla earned the Tigers first title of the championships in the 200 IM, touching the wall in an NCAA B cut and pool record time of 1:43.01 seconds to earn the victory. The win was the third individual title of Khosla's career and the second-straight year he has won the 200 IM. Charles Leibson clocked in at 1:47.72 seconds to finish sixth and Derek Cox at 1:48.50 seconds to finish seventh. Owen Huang also finished 18th with a time of 1:49.00 seconds.
1-Meter Diving
Princeton had a tremendous day in the 1-meter diving, as Charlie Minns finished second and set a new school championship record with a score of 356.50. Colten Young finished third with a season-high score of 330.10 and Griffin Brooks earned a score of 292.95 to finish seventh; he was the only freshmen diver who made the A final from any team.
500 Freestyle
Levy Nathan's time of 4:21.11 seconds was an NCAA B cut and saw him earn a third-place finish while Nicholas Lim took fourth in an NCAA B cut time of 4:21.55 seconds. Dylan Porges finished eighth after touching the wall at 4:29.72 seconds. With a time of 4:24.10 seconds, Sam Tarter finished 11th while John Ehling finished 15th in 4:27.26 seconds. Peyton Werner's time of 4:27.77 seconds saw him finish 16th and Brendan Firlie took 18th in 4:23.67 seconds.
50 Free
Max Walther finished 17th in 20.27 and Nathan Yates 20th in 20.57.
200 Freestyle Relay
The Tigers finished sixth after the team of Derek Cox, Khosla, Leibson and Walther finished in 1:19.97 seconds.

The Tigers will resume competition at the Ivy League Championships tomorrow. Prelims will commence at 11 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.
