Khosla & Cox Win Titles on Day Three at Ivy Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Buoyed by first-place finishes by Raunak Khosla and Derek Cox, the Princeton University men's swimming & diving team sit in second-place after the third day at the Ivy League Championships at Blodgetts Pool.
With 826 points the Tigers are second and trail only Harvard University who has 936. Columbia University ended the night third with 694 points.
1,000 Freestyle
The Tigers had several point-scorers in the 1,000 freestyle; Dylan Porges finished second in 8:57.68 seconds, which was the second-fastest time in school history. Levy Nathan took seventh after finishing in 9:03.94 seconds, Brendan Firlie eighth in 9:05.40 seconds and John Ehling ninth in 9:05.42 seconds. Firlie and Ehling both moved into Princeton's all-time top-10 in the event, with Firlie fifth and Ehling sixth. Arthur Markley also finished 12th in 9:14.11 seconds.
400 IM
Khosla continued his outstanding meet, winning the 400 IM for the second-consecutive year. His time of 3:41.75 seconds was a school record, topping his previous time of 2:22.22 seconds, a pool record and an NCAA B cut.
Sam Tarter finished tenth after touching the wall at 3:53.26 seconds and Peyton Werner finished 12th in 3:53.94 seconds.
100 Butterfly
Nicholas Lim finished 11th in 47.93 and Nathan Yates took 15th in 48.91. He also moved into Princeton's all-time top-10 after his time of 47.54.
200 Freestyle
Max Walther finished seventh in 1:36.57 seconds and Charles Leibson eighth in 1:37.61 seconds. Walther's time of 1:36.27 seconds from prelims saw him move into Princeton's all-time top-10.
100 Breaststroke
Derek Cox repeated as champion in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in an NCAA B cut time of 53.73. Corey Lau finished third in 53.87, which was sixth-fastest all-time at Princeton, also an NCAA B cut. Daniel Arris finished in 54.90, which saw him earn an 11th-place finish while Owen Huang took 19th in 55.81.
100 Backstroke
Matthew Marquardt finished 23rd in 49.94.
3-Meter Diving
In the consolation final, Griffin Brooks finished third with a score of 323.10. Charlie Minns and Colten Young will compete in the A final tomorrow night.
400 Medley Relay
The Tigers finished sixth after the team of Cox, Corey Lau, Lim and Walther clocked in at 3:14.59 seconds.
