No. 17 Women’s Tennis to Compete ITA National Indoor Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 17 Princeton University women's tennis team will open play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Indoor Championships Friday morning.
The tournament, in its 33rd year, will take place in Chicago, Illinois, at the XS Tennis Village from Friday, February 7 until Monday, February 10. Princeton will play its first match against No. 7 North Carolina State University at 9 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET.
Tournament Format
The competition is a single-elimination tournament spread over four days with the winner decided on Monday, February 10. Although the tournament is single-elimination, each team is guaranteed three dual-matches over the course of the weekend.
Tiger Notes
Princeton's No. 17 ranking is its highest in program history, according to available sources. It tops the Tigers previous high of No. 20, achieved in 1982. The Tigers also checked in at No. 13 in the United States Tennis Association (UTSA) rankings.
The Tigers also have three ranked individuals and one ranked doubles team. Brianna Shvets is ranked No. 34, Zoe Howard No. 71 and Daria Frayman No. 98 while in doubles Grace Joyce and Frayman were tabbed at No. 47.
Princeton has a 3-0 record on the season, defeating Northwestern University 5-2 in its most recent match on Saturday, February 1.
Scouting No. 7 NC State
The seventh-ranked Wolfpack is 9-1 on the season and defeated the University of Kansas 6-1 on Sunday, February 2 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
NC State boasts the top-ranked doubles team in the nation, Anna Rogers and Alana Smith. The duo has been ranked No. 1 for 20 weeks. Along with Rogers and Smith, Jada Daniel and Adriana Reami checked in at No. 14 in the most recent doubles poll.
In singles Smith is ranked No. 20, Reami is No. 30 and Rogers No. 43.
