Princeton Falls In Close Contest vs. Penn State

CARY, N.C. – The Princeton Tigers fell in the series finale to the Penn State Nittany Lions, 4-3, at the USA Baseball Complex on Sunday afternoon.
This time it was Princeton who began the scoring as Noah Granet scored on a wild pitch in the top of the fourth inning. The Nittany Lions countered in the next frame as an RBI single, a sacrifice fly and infield hit put them back in front, 3-1.
In the Tigers' next at-bat, they loaded the bases with no out. Jake Boone brought in Ramzi Haddad on a sacrifice fly, but Princeton couldn't add on.
The Nittany Lions tacked on an insurance tally on double play in the sixth inning. Princeton made one more push as David Harding knocked in Sy Snedeker in the eighth, but a strikeout finished the threat.
Eric Marasheski produced two hits for Princeton. Jack Anderson threw a scoreless stanza in relief. The Tigers head to Ole Miss next weekend for a three-game set.
