Women’s Track & Field Finishes Fourth at Heps

ITHACA, N.Y. – After a final day that featured several standout performances, the Princeton University women's track & field team earned a fourth-place finish at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships.
The Tigers finished fourth with 68 points; Cornell University was third with 82.5, Harvard University second with 126 and the University of Pennsylvania first with 133.
Princeton earned a third-place finish in the DMR after Peyton Brown, Isabella Hilditch, India Weir and Sophie Cantine finished in 11:34.58.
The team of Katie DiFrancesco, Heide Baron, Arianna Smith and Ashley Willingham also finished third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:45.49, the fifth-fastest time in school history.
The Tigers had two top-five finishers in the mile as India Weir took fourth in 4:59.63 and Gillian Wagner fifth in 5:04.83.
In the 60 hurdles, Isabella Hilditch clocked in at 8.51 to finish seventh; in prelims she clocked in at 8.50 to set a new school record, besting Ellie Randolph's time of 8.51 from 2019.
Julia Harisay earned a sixth-place finish in the shot put after a throw of 13.95 meters and Lindsey Schmidt finished seventh in the high jump after clearing 1.70 meters, which tied for the eighth-best mark in school history.
Heide Baron took seventh in the 400 with a time of 56.86.
In the 500, Charlotte O'Toole finished in 1:15.26 to earn a third-place finish.
Olivia Hee finished fifth in the 60 with a time of 7.61. In prelims she set a new school record, clocking in at 7.56.
Princeton had a pair of finalists in the 1,000; Maggie Hock took fifth in 2:54.64 and Madeleine Sumner seventh in 2:57.37.
In the 200, Katie DiFrancesco finished fifth in 24.53.
Tia Rozario finished eighth in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 12.18, besting her previous PR of 12.13 meters. Rozario's mark was also the fifth-best in school history. Kara Steele finished tenth with an indoor PR of 12.12, topping her previous PR of 12.11. Steele's mark was also the sixth-best in Princeton history.
