Morey Named Finalist for ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year

Third-season head coach Cara Morey has been announced as one of three finalists for ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year, the league has announced.
Morey joins Yale's Mark Bolding and Cornell's Doug Derraugh as Coach of the Year finalists.
Morey has led Princeton to the ECAC semifinals each of the last two seasons. This year, her team broke the program record for wins in a season, now at 24 heading into Friday's ECAC semifinal. The previous best was 22, set by the 2015-16 team.
The Tigers have been ranked in the top 10 in the nation all season, standing sixth in the most recent USA Hockey and USCHO polls, and Saturday's ECAC semifinal against Clarkson will be Princeton's 11th game of the season against a fellow top-10 opponent.
With the All-ECAC team still to be announced, Princeton earned five of the 12 All-Ivy honorees between the league's first and second teams, including first-team senior forward Carly Bullock, first-team sophomore forward Sarah Fillier, second-team sophomore forward Maggie Connors, second-team senior blueliner Claire Thompson, and second-team junior netminder Rachel McQuigge.
