Seniors Madison Soukup and Morgan Steelman have closed their Princeton careers by earning the women's squash program's team awards.
Steelman earned the program's Edward W. Hobler '39 Women's Squash Award, presented annually to that player who through dedication, practice, attitude and performance best provides an inspiration to her fellow teammates. Steelman competed in 14 of 16 matches between courts five, six, seven and eight with a total record of 11-3.
Steelman and Soukup shared the Lexi Anastos Trophy, named for the late co-captain of the 1990 and 1991 women's squash teams who passed away in 2000 at the age of 31. It's the third time in the award's 20-year history that it has been shared, with Anna Minkowski '02 and Courtney Green '02 winning in 2002, and Anina Nolan '07 and Rebecca Shingleton '06 winning in 2006.
Soukup went 4-0, competing in the first four matches of the season between courts eight and nine.
The team had its best finish since 2009, finishing national runner-up at the Collegiate Squash Association's Howe Cup championship.
