October 11, 2021 | Football
It was a banner weekend for the Princeton football team.
Â
The comeback.
Â
Down 21-6, the Tigers roared back (pun intended) and took home a 31-28 decision over then No. 25 Monmouth. Jeffrey Sexton hit this kick with 10 seconds to go.
Â
On Sunday, Caraun Reid (Tennessee Titans) and Jesper Horsted (Chicago Bears) were active for the first time this season. Horsted caught a touchdown pass in the Bears' 20-9 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Here's a few nuggets based on the win over Monmouth …
Â
3: That's the number of national polls that the Tigers are ranked in. Princeton is up to No. 20 in the AFCA Coaches', No. 23 in the Athlon Sports FCS and No. 25 in the Stats Perform FCS polls.
Â
3: Collin Eaddy rushed for three touchdowns in the contest vs. Monmouth. It's the third time in his career that he's done that. His 24 career rushing touchdowns are tied with Walter A. Snickenberger, Jr. '75, for 10th all-time.
Â
8: Sexton, a true freshman, has knocked in eight straight field goals to begin the season. His last one was the most important of his young career, a 35-yarder with 10 seconds to go to take down No. 25 Monmouth. He was named Ivy League Special Teams and Rookie of the Week.
Â
8: Princeton is one of eight teams left in the FCS undefeated. The other teams with no losses include Dartmouth, East Tennessee State, Eastern Washington, Harvard, North Dakota State, Rhode Island and Sam Houston.
Â
23: Andrei Iosivas had two catches for eight yards in the first half for Monmouth. He had two explosive plays in the second half including two outrageous catches including a helmet grab. He sits with 12 catches for 276 yards (a career-high) this season, averaging 23.0 yards per reception, the third best among all players in the NCAA FCS.
