Men's Tennis Continues to Impress at ITA Northeast Regionals

PHILADELPHIA – The Princeton University men's tennis team had a strong third day at the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships Saturday, advancing four singles players to the Round of 32 one doubles duo to the quarterfinals.

In doubles, senior Justin Barki and junior Thomas Bosancic downed Pierce Widdecombe and Alex Knox-Jones of Dartmouth, 8-4. The duo would follow with an 8-3 triumph over Giuseppe De Camelis and Carl Gustavson of St. John's. Seniors Karl Poling and Damian Rodriguez also earned an 8-4 victory over Hofstra's Bo Cautaers and Shawn Jackson.

In singles, senior No. 101 Karl Poling overcame Gustavo Pinho of St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-5, 6-0 and senior Damian Rodriguez took down Carl Gustavson of St. John's, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4. Despite dropping the first set, junior Thomas Bosancic earned a 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Yale's Renaud Lefevere, and senior Justin Barki took down Fairfield's Charlie Morkel, 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.
