October 08, 2021 | Men's Water Polo
PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 13 Princeton Tigers head to New York for their first two Northeast Water Polo Conference road (NWPC) contests of the season.
Princeton takes on Iona at 10 a.m. in New Rochelle before going to Brooklyn to take on St. Francis Brooklyn at 5 p.m. For information on attending the game vs. SFC, check out this story here.
The Tigers are currently 14-3 overall and 2-1 in the NWPC. Head coach Dustin Litvak's group dropped a close 10-8 battle to No. 15 Harvard before earning wins over Brown and MIT last weekend. Perhaps, the signature moment of the season to date was Princeton's California Sweep over No. 17 Loyola Marymount, No. 10 Pepperdine and No. 13 UC Irvine.
Princeton is averaging over 13 goals per contest in their fast start this season highlighted by Roko Pozaric's 43 tallies so far. Pozaric has been one of the best players in the country, adding a team-best 27 helpers, 23 steals and an impressive 58-1 record in sprints. He has earned at least NWPC Player or Rookie of the Week in all but one week of action. Keller Maloney is also off to a great start, snagging 33 goals, 19 assists, 11 steals and 20 drawn ejections. Mason Killion (21), Wyatt Benson (18), George Caras (16), Yurian Quinones (15), Vladan Mitrovic (15) and Mitchell Cooper (13) have all added at least 10 goals for the Tigers with two more players with nine tallies.
In goal, Antonio Knez and Billy Motherway have been outstanding for Princeton, producing a combined .523 save percentage. Motherway hasn't lost in his six starts while Knez is 8-3 with 101 saves.
