November 10, 2021 | Women's Soccer
For the eighth time in program history, as many as seven Tigers have earned athletic All-Ivy League honors, the Ivy office announced on Wednesday.
It is the third time in the last four competitive seasons that at least seven Tigers have earned athletic All-Ivy recognition, with all three of those occasions coinciding with NCAA tournament bids.
Under a new format for announcing the league's academic honors, each program's Academic All-Ivy honoree is included with the athletic All-Ivy announcement.
Here's a look at Princeton's honorees:
First Team
Grace Barbara, Sr., G
Barbara carries a 10-2-1 overall record into the NCAA tournament, turning in six solo shutouts on the way to an 0.82 GAA. In league play, Barbara went 6-1, getting all six wins by shutout to accrue an 0.42 GAA against league opponents. Coming in Barbara's first season as the team's primary goalkeeper, the Ivy honor is Barbara's first.
Madison Curry, Jr. D
Playing in 16 games and starting 14, Curry helped Princeton's back line turn in nine shutouts among those 16 games. She also contributed a goal in Princeton's 4-3 win on Sept. 9 at No. 9 Rutgers and added assists in the 4-0 win over Yale on Sept. 25 and on the only goal at Penn on Nov. 6. It is Curry's second straight All-Ivy honor, also earning first-team recognition in 2019.
Lucy Rickerson, Sr. D
Now a four-time All-Ivy Leaguer, Rickerson has also been a key to Princeton's defensive success, playing in 16 games with 14 starts and helping the team post nine shutouts, including six against Ivy opponents. Rickerson was a first-team All-Ivy Leaguer in 2018, a second-teamer in 2019, and earned honorable mention in 2017.
Second Team
Tatum Gee, Sr., F
Moving to forward for her final season with the Tigers, Gee scored six goals and added five assists to stand at 17 points, standing second on the team in each statistic. Gee had two-goal games at George Mason on Sept. 2 and at Dartmouth on Oct. 2, adding a goal apiece at Delaware on Sept. 19 and at Harvard on Oct. 23. The All-Ivy honor is Gee's first.
Gabi Juarez, Sr., F
Juarez leads the Tigers in goals, with eight, and points, with 21. Six of those goals came in a stretch of five games played between Sept. 19 at Delaware and Oct. 9 at Brown, scoring twice in a five-point game against Bucknell on Sept. 28. It is the first All-Ivy honor for Juarez.
Aria Nagai, So., M
In her first season of college soccer, Nagai played in all 17 games and made 13 starts. Nagai assisted on goals against Saint Joseph's on Aug. 29, Bucknell on Sept. 28, and Cornell on Oct. 30. The honor is Nagai's first All-Ivy recognition.
