Coomans Named United Soccer Coaches All-Region

Adding to a year that saw her named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year, Princeton senior Drew Coomans has been named United Soccer Coaches third-team All-East Region, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Coomans switched from forward to defender this season and started all 17 games, helping hold opponents to 1.4 goals per game over the season and just 0.43 goals per game over a season-ending seven-game stretch that saw Princeton rally its way to the Ivy League title and into the Ivy League Tournament final. Coomans' 1,407 minutes were second-most on the team this season.
Coomans kept her contributions to the offense as well, notching four assists to finish just one behind her career high of five, set each of the last two seasons, while also scoring a goal in an Oct. 11 game against Cornell.
