Davey, McCarthy, Yeager Named To NFHCA All-Region Teams
November 22, 2021 | Field Hockey
Hannah Davey and Beth Yeager have been named first-team All-Mid Atlantic Region selections by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Ali McCarthy was a second-team selection.
All three Princeton honorees were named first-team All-Ivy League after the season ended.
For Davey, a junior from England, this is the second time she has been a first-team All-Region pick. Davey also was selected in 2019, when she played on the offensive end of the field. This past season, in a more defensive role, Davey was also a huge part of Princeton's transition game, finishing the year with a goal and seven assists, two of which came on overtime goals.
Yeager set the Princeton freshman record with 16 goals, despite missing the final three games of the year due to injury. She led the Ivy League in goals per game and points per game, was second in Division I in points per game, was third in Division I in goals per game and was one of four players in Division I to average at least one goal per game.
McCarthy, also a junior, finished the season second on the team in assists with eight and third on the team in goals (seven) and points (22).
Next up in the NFHCA postseason honors program will be the announcement of the Regional Players of the Year next week and then the All-American teams Dec. 14, followed by the National Player of the Year on Dec. 16.
