Men's Basketball Falls at Monmouth, 76-64

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Playing in their final game before Thanksgiving, the Princeton University men's basketball team fell to Monmouth University, 76-64, Wednesday night inside the OceanFirst Bank Center.
Senior Jaelin Llewellyn led the Tigers in scoring with 17 points, and was one of three Tigers in double-digits; senior Ethan Wright finished with 13 points, and junior Ryan Langborg also added 10 points for the Tigers. Freshman Mason Hooks led the Tigers and tied his career-best in rebounds, with six.
While the game started as a back-and-forth battle, a Hooks dunk with 16:54 on the clock sparked a 7-0 Princeton run that saw the Tigers take a 13-5 lead with 15:27 remaining. Monmouth was able to knot the score at 21-21 with 9:10 left in the half, but Princeton used a 10-0 run led off by a Langborg three-pointer with 4:08 remaining that also featured three-pointers by senior Drew Friberg and Wright, along with a Llewellyn layup, to take a 44-30 advantage with 1:43 on the clock. Wright sank a pair of free throws with 00:48 remaining, and the Tigers took a 46-39 advantage into the half.
A Friberg three-pointer with 17:50 left to play kept Princeton's advantage at seven, 51-44. Back-to-back Monmouth threes trimmed the lead to one, 51-50, at 16:04. Martini finished through a foul with 14:36 on the clock to give the Tigers a 55-52 advantage, but Monmouth battled back and would take an eight-point lead, 65-57, at 11:06.
