Claire Thompson '20 and Sarah Fillier are headed to Team Canada's selection camp as two of the 47 players from which Hockey Canada will make its roster for the IIHF Women's World Championship in May.
The camp will run April 14-22 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and the IIHF championship will run May 6-16 in Halifax and Truro, Nova Scotia.
Thompson and Fillier have been regular inclusions for Team Canada in the run-up to the IIHF championship, most recently taking part in a training camp in Halifax in early March.
While Thompson has graduated and Fillier is two seasons into her Princeton career, the accomplishments of both are already part of Princeton's program history. Thompson stands fifth among defensemen on Princeton's all-time scoring list with 87 career points on 31 goals and 56 assists, and Fillier finished her sophomore season in 2020 with 22 goals and 35 assists for the second straight year, giving her 70 assists and 114 points to stand already more than halfway to Princeton's career records for assists (122) and points (218).
Fillier earned AHCA All-America honors in each of her first two seasons as well as All-ECAC and All-Ivy, and Thompson was an All-ECAC honoree twice during her career, All-Ivy three times and an Academic All-Ivy selection.
