GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Princeton University men's track & field team had three program all-time top-three performances and won six events at a successful Fast Times Before Finals Meet Saturday inside Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
"It was a fantastic day for us and we are do pleased that were able to compete," said William M. Weaver '34 Jr. Head Coach of Men's Track & Field Fred Samara. "The guys rose to the occasion with some absolutely fantastic performances topped by our sprinters in the 100 and 200. The 200-meter time by Ibrahim is second all-time, only beaten by all-time great Steve Morgan. The level of performance makes a clear statement about the dedication and team spirit the guys have shown throughout their difficult year."
Along with winning the 200, Ibrahim Ayorinde's time of 20.88 ranks second all-time in school history. Daniel Duncan continued his outstanding form from last weekend as he finished second in the 200 and clocked in at 21.06 in the 200, the third-fastest time in school history and new PR. He topped his previous PR of 21.20, which he set last weekend at the Princeton Invitational. Simang'aliso Ndhlovu also earned a PR of 21.85 in the 200, besting his previous PR of 21.90 earned at the Sam Howell Invite in 2019.
Duncan was also sensational in the 100, winning the event and finishing in 10.47, the third-fastest time in school history. In the prelim he clocked in at 10.42, but due to the wind being more than 2.0 his time was unable to count toward the Tigers' all-time top-10 list.
Taraje Whitfield won the 110 hurdles, finishing in 14.60, while William Doyle won the 400 in 48.05.
In the 800, Ethan Reese's won the event and his time of 1:51.69 was a PR, besting his previous PR of 1:53.13 from the Princeton Invitational. Jordan Kaplan improved on his time from the Princeton Invitational of 1:54.96 to finish in 1:54.27 while Jack Kenkel also improved his PR from the previous weekend from 2:01.23 to 2:00.02.
Kelton Chastulik won the shot put thanks to a throw of 16.68 meters.
Jovan Aigbekaen's time of 14.93 in the 110 hurdles was a PR, beating his PR from the Princeton Invitational of 14.96.
