Women’s Track & Field Sends Three to NCAA East Regional

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Obiageri Amaechi along with sophomore Tia Rozario and freshman Kate Joyce have qualified for the 2021 NCAA East Regional, as announced by the organization Thursday.
Amaechi will compete in the discus, Rozario in the triple jump and Joyce in the javelin. The meet takes place inside Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, from Thursday, May 27 until Sunday, May 29.
The Ivy League and school outdoor record holder in the discus, Amaechi will compete on Saturday, May 29 at 1:30 p.m. ET and will be attending an NCAA Regional for the third time in three attempts. In 2018 and 2019 she advanced to the NCAA Championships, earning First Team All-America honors in 2018 after finishing seventh.
The triple jump takes place on Saturday, May 29 at 3:15 p.m. At the College of New Jersey Last Chance Meet on Thursday, May 13, Rozario produced a mark of 12.54 meters, which was the No. 3 all-time mark in school history. It also re-set her Singapore national record.
Joyce burst onto the scene in impressive fashion, setting a new school record of 50.44 meters at her first collegiate meet, the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, April 24. She will compete at 1:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 27.
