Heavies' 2V Boat Qualifies For IRA Grand Final

WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The Princeton men's heavyweight rowing team saw its 2V boat qualify for the Grand Final during day one of the IRA Rowing Championships on Friday.
In the afternoon session, the 2V (6:38.66) placed second in its semifinal, trailing only Washington. The 2V8 Grand Final is set for Saturday at 9:10 a.m., where the Tigers will take on Washington, Dartmouth, California, Northeastern and Syracuse.
The 1V earned a spot in the Petite Final, coming in third during its semifinal (6:40.25), behind Dartmouth and Syracuse. The V8 Petite Final is scheduled for 9:50 a.m., with Princeton, Boston University, Brown, Navy Wisconsin and George Washington.
All of the V4 semifinals were cancelled due to the weather. That does not end the season for the boat as it will race one more time at 10:10 a.m., against Mercyhurst, Stanford, Colgate, George Washington and UC-San Diego.
Morning Session:
The V8 collected the eighth best time in the time trials (5:33.67), 2.2 seconds off of Washington's top mark. The second varsity crossed the line seventh (5:48.21), 4.8 seconds back of Washington. The 4+ boat placed 18th in its time trial (7:27.08).

9:10 a.m. – Grand Final, 2V8: Watch
9:50 a.m. – Petite Final, 1V8: Watch
10:10 a.m. – Third Level, V4: Watch
