Brightbill and Chen Earn Peer-To-Peer Leadership Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – Grace Brightbill of Field Hockey and AJ Chen of Men's Volleyball have earned Peer-to-Peer Leader awards for their involvement in the Student-Athlete Wellness Leaders (SAWL) program.

The Student-Athlete Wellness Leaders (SAWL) program supports healthy lifestyles among varsity student-athletes using a peer helper model. Trained varsity student-athletes serve as role models in noticing and responding to peers in need of support and referring them to appropriate resources. The program is sponsored by Princeton University Athletics and University Health Services.

 The SAWL are one of thirteen peer educator groups on campus supported by Campus Life and the Office of the Dean of the College.
Brightbill earned the Active Listening Award as she was an exceptional leader in various community service groups, most notably the Princeton Peer Nightline. Chen secured the Peer-to-Peer Leader of the Year award for his leadership in creating a culture of kindness, respect, allyship and support on his team, and as a founding member of Asian Student-Athletes of Princeton (ASAP).
