Tokyo Olympics: Johnson '17 and U.S. Advance To Semifinals with 16-5 Win over Canada

TOKYO – Ashleigh Johnson '17 and the United States women's water polo team advanced to the Tokyo Olympics Semifinals with a 16-5 takedown of Canada on Monday evening.
The United States recorded the first five goals of the game and led 7-1 after eight minutes. The two-time defending gold medalists posted the first two tallies of the second frame and were not threatened the rest of the way.
Three different players had hat tricks for the United States. Johnson corralled 14 saves in just three quarters of work. The U.S. will take on the winner of Australia and ROC on Thursday at 2:30 a.m.
