Yeager Adds National Offensive Player Of The Week To Her List Of Honors
September 22, 2021 | Field Hockey
Beth Yeager's name has been associated with the word "national" before, as in, she is already a member of the U.S. women's national team, and she is already near the top of the national individual scoring rankings. Now "national" has been used in a different context.
Yeager added the NFHCA National Offensive Player of the Week award to her already-announced Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week award after a huge two-game stretch that saw her score four goals and add two assists in wins over Delaware and Boston University.
Yeager leads Princeton and the Ivy League and is in the top three in the country in both goals per game and points per game. After a two-assist performance in the 4-3 overtime loss to No. 9 Maryland Tuesday, Yeager has six goals and four assists for 16 points in her first six collegiate games.
Princeton, ranked No. 17 this week, opens the Ivy League season Friday afternoon at Penn in a game that has been moved from 4 pm to 3 pm. The Tigers host Rutgers, ranked 10th, Sunday at noon.
