Men’s Track and Field Travels to Annapolis for Meet with Navy

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's track and field team is set to take on the Naval Academy in a dual meet on Saturday, January 15th inside the Wesley A. Brown field house.
Last time out for the Tigers, at the Joe Handelman Invitational, Princeton set three top-10 school record performances. Simen Guttormsen set the Ivy League record in the Pole Vault, traveling a distance of 5.50 meters. With that performance, Guttormsen also secured the second highest distance in school history.
Meanwhile, Daniel Duncan set the school record in the 60 meters, clocking in at a blazing 6.71 seconds. Finally, C.J. Licata maintained his second all-time school mark in the shot put with a throw of 19.09 meters.
On the Midshipmen: In their most recent outing at the Navy Invitational, the Midshipmen recorded 20 IC4A qualifying marks. In the 2019-2020 season, Navy won first place in the Patriot League Indoor Championships. That year, the Midshipmen defeated Princeton 107-68 in a dual meet.
West Coast Bound: Brothers Simen Guttormsen and Sondre Guttormsen will compete in the World Pole Vault Summit on Friday, January 14th in Reno, Nevada. The competition will begin at 10 PM ET / 7 PM PT.
Up Next: The Tigers will travel to Annapolis, Maryland to compete in the Wesley Brown Invitational from January 21st to January 22nd.
