No. 19 Women's Water Polo Falls To No. 9 UC San Diego In Overtime

SANTA BARBARA – The No. 19 Princeton Tigers dropped an overtime decision to the No. 9 UC San Diego Tritons during the final day of the UC-Santa Barbara Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
Princeton found itself trailing, 3-1, with 75 seconds left in the first quarter before eventually rallying to even the game at 4-all as the clock read 3:33 in the second frame. The two squads exchanged tallies before the Tritons held a 6-5 advantage at halftime.
Kate Mallery tied the game at 6-all but the Tigers trailed by a goal as the fourth stanza started. Princeton ripped off two straight to take the lead with six minutes remaining, but UC San Diego tied the non-conference tilt, leading to overtime. The Tritons outscored the Tigers, 2-1 in the extra session to take the win.
Princeton is back on the road next week to take on La Salle next Sunday at 6 p.m.
