Women's Water Polo Collects Win Over La Salle, 10-8

PHILADELPHIA – The Princeton Tigers used nine different goal scorers to take down the La Salle Explorers, 10-8, at Kirk Pool on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers scored the first two goals of the game and led by one after the first frame. After a tally from Kate Mallery, La Salle registered the next two tallies to tie the contest at 3-all halfway through the second quarter. An Annie Robinson goal had Princeton ahead, 4-3, at halftime.
The two teams exchanged goals before tallies from CiCi Stewart and Delainey Whelan had the Tigers up 7-4 with 48 seconds left in the third frame. This time, La Salle registered consecutive goals to get within one as the fourth stanza got underway.
Princeton put the battle away with three straight goals, extending the lead to four, 10-6. La Salle was held off the scoreboard the final 2:08 as Princeton secured the win.
The Tigers are 3-2 overall and head to Villanova next Friday (6 p.m.).
