Lucia Scalamandre Earns Fifth Ivy Rookie of the Week Honor

PRINCETON, N.J. – Freshman Lucia Scalamandre of the Princeton University women's volleyball team has been named Ivy league Rookie of the Week for the fifth time, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.

Scalamandre helped the Tigers earn the weekend sweep of Harvard and Dartmouth inside Dillon Gymnasium; Princeton overcame Harvard, 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-13, 25-11), on Friday, October 28, and Dartmouth, 3-0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-12),on Saturday, October 29.

In both wins, she averaged 2.71 kills per set on a .444 hitting percentage, along with 1.57 block per set, recording a total of 11 blocks. Scalamandre also had a two service ace and two digs,

Against Harvard, she tallied nine kills on a .316 hitting percentage, along with a match-high seven blocks and two service aces. In Princeton's win over the Big Green, Scalamandre finished with 10 kills on a .588 hitting percentage, and four blocks.

Scalamandre and the Tigers are in action next on Friday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m. inside Dillon Gymnasium against Brown (11-8, 7-3).
