Lucia Scalamandre Honored as Ivy Rookie of the Week for Sixth Time

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its weekly awards Monday afternoon, and freshman Lucia Scalamandre of the Princeton University women's volleyball team was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the sixth time.

Scalamandre led the Tigers to a weekend sweep inside Dillon Gymnasium, first overcoming Brown, 3-2 (19-25, 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, 18-18), on Friday, November 4, then Yale, 3-1 (25-20, 25-20, 21-25, 25-23), on Saturday, November 5.

Across both matches, she hit .509 and led the Tigers with 31 kills and 3.44 kills per set. Scalamandre also finished with 15 blocks, averaging 1.67 per set, to lead the Tigers, and had five digs along with one service ace.

In Princeton's win over Brown, Scalamandre tallied a career-best 17 kills on a .607 hitting percentage, along with six blocks, three digs and one service ace.

Against Brown, she had 14 kills on a .407 hitting percentage, a career-high nine blocks, and two digs.
