Top-10 Win Earns Coles EIWA Wrestler of the Week Honor

Princeton sophomore Danny Coles was the lone wrestler of the nine who had the chance to do so, between both teams Sunday at Jadwin Gym against Rutgers, to enter a bout unranked by InterMat and defeat a ranked opponent, earning him EIWA Wrestler of the Week honors.
Coles' win at 141 was against more than a ranked opponent, but one in InterMat's top 10, with Sammy Alvarez at No. 8 by that outlet and ranked as high as No. 6 nationally by Amateur Wrestling News.
Coles scored first, getting a takedown right at the end of the opening period before Alvarez got a point back with an escape at the start of the second period and pulled in front with a takedown just past the midway point of the second. Coles tied it back up at 3-3 with an escape off that takedown and earned what became the winning point with an escape off the third-period start in the 4-3 win.
