Men's Swimming & Diving On Top After Day One Of Big Al Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's swimming & diving team got off to a strong start at the Big Al Invitational Friday night at DeNunzio Pool, scoring 384.50 points and sitting in first-place.
The Tigers opened the night win with a victory in the 200 freestyle relay, with the team of Brett Feyerick, Max Walther, Lucas Tudoras and Raunak Khosla finishing first in 1:18.52. The quartet of Joshua Brown, Finn Dowdall, Adell Sabovic and Kael Mlinek also took third after clocking in at 1:20.39.
The 500 freestyle was a dominant event for Princeton, with five advancing to the A final. Dylan Porges won the event with an NCAA B cut time of 4:19.53, Nicholas Lim finished third in 4:23.16, John Ehling fourth in 4:23.22, Peyton Werner sixth in 4:24.01 and Mitch Schott eighth in 4:27.93. Other scorers for the Tigers included Billy Swartwout, who finished 11th with a time of 4:26.11, Hunter Kim who was 13th with a time of 4:26.72 and Max Hunger who was 15th with a time of 4:28.61.
Five Tigers also made the A final of the 200 IM; Raunak Khosla earned an NCAA B cut, touching the wall at 1:42.94 to win the event while Lucas Strøbek also earned an NCAA B cut, clocking in at 1:45.57 to finish third. Tyler Hong's also finished fourth with an NCAA B cut time of 1:45.87, Josh Brown finished seventh in 1:48.65 and Max Kreidl eighth in 1:52.64. James Pan earned an 11th-place finish after finishing in 1:48.99, and Max Seidel finished 14th in 1:49.82.
In the 50 freestyle, Feyerick finished third in 20.06, Tudoras fourth in 20.07 and Walther sixth in 20.20. Finn Dowdall took 13th with a time of 20.49, and Adell Sabovic 16th in 20.67.
On the 1-meter board, Joe Victor's score of 319.25 saw him finish second, while Taso Callanan's score of 302.45 saw him finish sixth.
The 400 medley relay saw the team of Hong, Khosla, Lim and Walther finish second after clocking in at 3:08.06, and the quartet of Feyerick, Mlinek Tudoras and Sabovic fourth in 3:12.56.
