Women’s Track and Field Sets New Program Record in Successful Day of Competition

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University women's track and field team put on a dazzling display at the Track and Tennis Center in Boston, Massachusetts and at the Armory in New York.
Friday
The Tigers absolutely dominated at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Maggie Hock set a new school record in the 1000 meters, clocking in at 2:45.54. Tsion Yared wasn't far behind with a time of 2:47.51, good for fourth all-time in school history.
Two Tigers set top-10 school records in the 200 meters as well. Grace Lanouette moves into third all-time with a time of 24.39, while Nia Mosby lands sixth all-time with a mark of 24.65.
The longer distance events turned up some eye-popping times. With a time of 4:39.65 in the mile, Caroline Timm moves to second all-time in program history. Meanwhile, Fiona Max recorded a 9:16.32 in the 3,000 meters, good enough for third all-time.
In the 4x400 meter relay, India Ingemi, Adelaide Asante, Arianna Smith and Nia Mosby went 3:44.58, moving into second all-time in school history and surpassing the team of Moran '12, Glaeser '12, Hand '12, and Barowski '15 (3:44.92).
Tia Rozario leapt a distance of 5.71 meters in the long jump, tying her with Susan Coltman '04 for ninth best in school history.
Meanwhile, at the Rutgers Open, Annika Kelly placed third in the weight throw with a distance of 18.77 meters. Also competing in the weight throw was Siniru Iheoma, who notched a personal best with a toss of 15.94 meters. In the long jump, Casey Burton placed fifth with a leap of 5.57 meters.
Saturday
At BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, the underclassmen squad of Maggie Liebich, Paola Rodriguez, Mena Scatchard and Mari Noble placed fifth overall with a time of 11:44.71.
At the Rutgers Open, Madeleine Wood placed fifth in the high jump with a distance of 1.72 meters, which is just two hundredths of a meter off her personal best.
Next up: The Tigers will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for the JDL DMR Invitational from February 19th – February 20th.
