Women's Water Polo Heads On The Road For CWPA Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton Women's Water Polo team gets into the heart of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) action with a four-game road trip this weekend.
The Tigers head to Mt. St. Mary's on Friday (7 p.m.) before contests against Bucknell on Saturday (1:30 p.m.) along with Brown (12 p.m.) and Saint Francis (3 p.m.) on Sunday in Lewisburg, Pa.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's squad is 9-2 this season following a 5-0 weekend at the Princeton Invitational (Feb. 11-13). The Tigers have collected three top-25 wins this season over No. 21 California Baptist, No. 17 LIU and No. 24 Bucknell. Kayla Yelensky was named CWPA Rookie of the Week after producing 14 goals, six assists, nine steals and six drawn ejections during the invite.
Yelensky leads the Tigers in scoring with 35 points (22 goals, 13 assists) and steals (19). Jovana Sekulic is right behind her with 21 tallies in seven contests. Meera Burghardt (18), Kaila Carroll (17), Nicole Kresich (15) and Laura Larkin (10) each have at least 10 goals this campaign. The Tigers have scored at least nine goals in every game.
Princeton already has victories over Bucknell and Saint Francis, outscoring the two CWPA foes by a combined 24-6. After this weekend, Ellingson's group will head out west for another California trip.
