Eight From Men’s Track & Field Qualify for NCAA Indoor Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The qualifiers for the 2022 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships were announced Tuesday, and eight members of the Princeton University men's track & field team garnered selection.
Sondre Guttormsen, Simen Guttormsen, Andrei Iosivas, Ethan Reese, Michael Phillippy, Sam Rodman, Sam Ellis, and C.J. Licata qualified for the championships, which take place in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12.
A pair of Tigers qualified in the pole vault; Sondre Guttormsen, whose mark of 5.82 meters on Saturday, February 11, at the Tyson Invitational currently ranks as the No. 2 mark in the country, and Simen Guttormsen, who is ranked No. 5 in the nation with a mark of 5.56 meters from the Wesley A. Brown Invitational on Saturday, January 21.
Iosivas will be competing in the heptathlon, where his score of 6036 from the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships on Saturday, February 26, stands as the No. 3 score in the nation.
The team of Reese, Phillippy, Rodman, and Ellis qualified in the DMR. The quartet's time of 9:23.30 from the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, February 19, ranks No. 7 in the nation.
Licata qualified in the shot put, and his 19.77-meter heave at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, February 20 ranks No. 14 nationally.
