Frankel Earns Princeton's Nomination for ECAC's Mandi Schwartz Award
February 09, 2022 | Women's Ice Hockey
The award is presented annually to an ECAC Hockey women's player in honor of former Yale student-athlete Mandi Schwartz, who passed away in 2011 but continues to inspire the entire hockey community through the memory of her courageous battle with acute myeloid leukemia.
Nominees must be leaders within their teams, in the classroom, and in the community, as well as standout performers on the ice.
Frankel is in her first year as captain and leads the NCAA in faceoffs won, at 486. Over her career, Frankel has earned AHCA All-American Scholar honors three times, is a three-time member of the ECAC All-Academic Team, and in 2020 was Princeton's representative on the ECAC Commissioner's List as the program's top scholar for that season.
Frankel has played in 121 games over her career scoring 19 goals and adding 38 assists for 57 career points. She has been a part of two NCAA tournament teams as well as Princeton's first ECAC Hockey tournament champion, in 2020.
