Samara Named Coach of the Year, Men’s Track & Field Tallies 15 All-Ivy Selections

PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading the Princeton University men's track and field team to their seventh straight Ivy League Indoor championship, Fred Samara has been named Ivy League coach of the year. It is Samara's ninth time winning the award.
In addition to earning first team All-Ivy in the heptathlon, Andrei Iosivas was nominated as Most Outstanding Field Performer of the meet. Iosivas placed first in six of seven events and posted an Ivy League record score of 6036 in the heptathlon, the third best score in the nation this year.
Christian Brown earned first team All-Ivy in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 7.87.
In the 200 meters, Ibrahim Ayorinde earned first team All-Ivy after turning in an Ivy League record time of 21.02. Daniel Duncan earned second team All-Ivy with a mark of 21.09, placing him second all-time in school history.
Michael Phillippy earned first team All-Ivy in the 400 meters, finishing in 46.50, a time which ranks second all-time in school history.
In the 800 meters, Sam Ellis earned first team All-Ivy after going 1:50.20. Ethan Reese earned second team All-Ivy with a time of 1:50.49.
Harrison Witt earned first team All-Ivy in the 1000 meters, crossing the finish line in 2:24.41. During prelims, Whitt went 2:22.05, moving into third all-time in school history.
Sam Ellis earned first team All-Ivy honors in the mile as well, recording a mark of 4:03.42.
In the pole vault, Sondre Guttormsen earned first team All-Ivy with a distance of 5.46. Sondre's brother, Simen Guttormsen, earned second team All-Ivy after traveling 5.31 meters.
Aviram Shwarzbard earned first team All-Ivy in the long jump, leaping 7.78 meters and landing second all-time in school history.
C.J. Licata earned first team All-Ivy in the shotput with a toss of 19.23 meters.
Simang'aliso Ndhlovu earned second team All-Ivy in the 60 meters, clocking in at 6.71. In qualifying, Ndhlovu ran an Ivy League record time of 6.77.
Andersen Dimon earned second team All-Ivy in the 500 meters, finishing in 1:02.76, good for sixth all-time in school history.
