Princeton Announces Three Spring Field Hockey Round-Robin Home Dates

A team that couldn't wait to play again after its 2021 season ended agonizingly close to its goals will get its first opportunities to do so on three weekends in April. The Princeton field hockey team that takes to Bedford Field for its spring games will be a team that should look very familiar to the one that came within a shootout loss of an Ivy League championship and possible deep NCAA tournament run, since there wasn't a single senior on the 2021 team.

With its entire team back, Princeton will host three weekends of round-robin games on Bedford Field, beginning this Saturday, April 2, when the Tigers host Temple, Rutgers and Virginia. The other spring dates will see Princeton host Penn, Syracuse and Maryland on Sunday, April 10, and then St. Joe's, Monmouth and UConn on Saturday, April 23.

The formats for all three weekends will be the same, with a round robin between the four teams and then matchups between the top two teams and the third and fourth place teams to follow. All games will have two 17-minute halves with a running clock and a two-minute halftime.

Princeton went 10-7 in 2021, including 3-4 in games that went to overtime or beyond, including a shootout loss to Harvard for its only Ivy League loss.
