Ivy-Leading Softball Team to Host Dartmouth Saturday, Sunday

At 5-1 in the Ivy League and in first place through two of seven Ivy series, the Princeton softball team will host Dartmouth for two games on Saturday and one game on Sunday.

Due to ongoing campus construction, those attending the game are asked to park in the North Garage, which is located off Prospect Street (map (PDF)), and walk down Fitzrandolph Road to Princeton Softball Stadium at Strubing Field. Parking in Lot 21 is not advised because of the construction between Lot 21 and the softball stadium.Â
The Tigers come in at 11-10 overall and 5-1 in the Ivy, one game up on second-place Columbia (4-2) and having won 10 of their last 12 overall. Princeton is hitting .270 as a team with Adrienne Chang leading at .397. Princeton is hitting .280 in league games with Ali Blanchard (.455), Chang (.389) and Grace Jackson (.353) all hitting better than .300. Princeton's pitching staff has a 1.76 ERA in league games, led by Alexis Laudenslager (0.75 ERA, 3-1 W-L) throwing 24 of the 41 innings in league play.
Dartmouth (5-19, 1-2) has Maddie Katona leading the team at the plate on the season, hitting .250, while Brooke Plonka (4.05, 4-9) and Rachel McCarroll (0-4, 4.68) have combined to thorw 107 of the team's 150 innings on the season. The Big Green split a doubleheader against Holy Cross on Wednesday in the team's final game before coming to Princeton.
Princeton leads the all-time series 33-24. The Big Green swept the series in 2019, the last time the teams met, to close that season, and took two of three in 2018, the last visit to Princeton and the first season of the three-game series format. Princeton last swept the then-annual doubleheader from Dartmouth in 2012, with the Big Green sweeping from 2014-17 and Princeton getting a split in 2013.
Following the series against Dartmouth, Princeton will head to Monmouth for a single game on Tuesday before returning home to face Cornell for a three-game series April 9-10.
