No. 19 Women's Water Polo Completes Seven-Goal Comeback In Win Over Concordia

IRVIN, Calif. – The No. 19 Princeton Tigers completed a furious comeback to take down the Concordia Eagles, 15-12, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers gave up eight straight goals after opening the scoring, trailing 8-1 with 3:49 to go in the first half. A goal by Laura Larkin cut deficit to six, 9-3, at the break.
Princeton made some progress with goals from Jovana Sekulic, Larkin and Rachel Carver to get within three, 10-7, halfway through the third stanza. Back-to-back tallies from Kayla Yelensky to end the quarter got the Tigers within two, 11-9, as the fourth frame got underway.
Head coach Derek Ellingson's squad kept up the rally, starting the fourth quarter with four goals to flip the game from a deficit to a 13-11 advantage. Concordia scored the next tally, but Larkin and Grace Houlahan kept the home team at bay.
Princeton finishes its West Coast trip with the Loyola Marymount Invitational this weekend.
