The nation's top-ranked women's lightweight crew heads to California this weekend as No. 1 Princeton prepares for a dual race with No. 3 Stanford on Redwood Creek in Redwood City.
No. 1 Princeton at No. 3 Stanford Schedule (Times PST)
9 a.m. - Varsity Eight
9:15 a.m. - Varsity Four
9:30 a.m. - Varsity Pair
The two teams last met in 2019, a 3-second win for the then-No. 1 Cardinal on Lake Carnegie. The Tigers would also finish runner-up to Stanford at the 2019 IRA Regatta in Sacramento.
"This is one of the great rivalries in our sport," said head coach Paul Rassam. "There's always a special energy around this regatta, and we are very much looking forward to getting it going again. It's a big trip for our group, and we're excited for the bonding on the trip as well."
Princeton enters with a 2-0 record in dual races this season, securing Cup wins over No. 5 Georgetown (13.1 seconds) and No. 2 Radclife (4.3 seconds).
The Cardinal have not competed in a dual race this season, but enter the weekend fresh off a win at the Knecht Cup on the Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J. last weekend over Radcliffe, Boston University and MIT.
