No. 4 Men's Lightweight Rowing Edged By No. 3 Cornell
April 16, 2022 | Men's Rowing - Lightweight
No. 4 Princeton was defeated on Lake Carnegie by No. 3 Cornell, the Big Red claiming the Platt Cup with a win in the 1V and the Harriett Competition Cup with the overall points victory.
With a moderate to high tailwind throughout all four races, the Tigers were unable to secure a win as Cornell claimed all four.
"Cornell is a very class crew that came in here and reminded us what it's like to row well," said head coach Martin Crotty. "This will serve as a nice wake up for all of our boats that were defeated today. We have a smart, talented group of guys who are capable of making adjustments and it's good to know the standard we need to achieve with exactly one month to go before Sprints."
The 1V lost for just the second time this season, its 2022 record now standing at 6-2 with both losses coming to the No. 2 (Navy) and No. 3 (Cornell) teams in the country and wins over No. 5 Georgetown, No. 7 Columbia, No. 10 Mercyhurst and No. 11 MIT.
