Yeager To Play For U.S. Team Again; Princeton To FInish Spring Season
April 20, 2022 | Field Hockey
The Princeton spring field hockey season concludes Saturday, April 23, when the Tigers host three more teams on Bedford Field. The games will be played without Princeton's first-team All-American Beth Yeager, though this is definitely an excused absence.
Â
While Princeton will be playing its spring games, Yeager will be in North Carolina, competing as one of 20 players on the U.S. national team against England as part of the FIH Pro League. These games, which feature the top national teams in the world, are part of the qualifying for the World Cup and Olympics.
Â
Yeager, who has represented the U.S. before, set the Princeton freshman record with 16 goals last fall, despite missing the final three games of the season due to injury. In addition to being a first-team All-American, she was also the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
Â
The U.S. team will play England in two games, one Saturday and one Sunday, both at 2. The games will be played at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Â
The Princeton team will be hosting Monmouth, UConn and St. Joe's on Bedford Field Saturday. Here is the schedule:Â
Â
11:00am Princeton v Monmouth
11:40am UConn vs. St Joe's
12:20pm St Joe's v Princeton
1:00pm UConn vs. Monmouth
1:40pm St Joe's vs. Monmouth
2:20pm Princeton v UConn
