Reece Rabin Named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week
April 25, 2022 | Baseball
Princeton, N.J. — After making three strong relief appearances which earned a win against No. 8 Rutgers and a save against Harvard, Reece Rabin was named the Ivy League Pitcher of the Week.
Rabin put in a trio of commanding performances last week, most notably 5.2 innings of shutout relief against No. 8 Rutgers on April 20. In that game, Rabin allowed just one hit—completely stifling a Rutgers offense that had just scored seven unanswered—with four strikeouts and no walks.
He also came in for the final two innings in Princeton's 4-3 game-two victory against Harvard and earned his first save of the season. In those 2.0 innings pitched, he shut out the Crimson with just one hit allowed, a strikeout, and no walks.
In total, Rabin pitched 10.0 innings with eight strikeouts, three walks, and two runs allowed (zero earned runs) on two hits.
Rabin's honor is Princeton's fourth Ivy League weekly award of the season. He joins Nadir Lewis, Brendan Cumming, and Jackson Emus as the fourth Tiger to earn an Ivy weekly honor so far this season.
