No. 39 Men’s Tennis Earns 5-2 Triumph over Yale
April 09, 2022 | Men's Tennis
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton University men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over Yale, Saturday afternoon at the Lenz Tennis Center.
In doubles, the tandem of Ryan Seggerman and Justin Barki dispatched Renaud Lefevre and Cody Lin 6-2 while playing in the No. 1 spot.
In singles, No. 50 Ryan Seggerman overcame No. 92 Michael Sun 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 while playing in the No. 1 spot. At No. 3, Justin Barki got past Theo Dean 6-2, 7-6 as Karl Poling secured a decisive 6-2, 6-3 win over Aidan Reilly at No. 4. Thomas Bosancic took down Shervin Dehmoubed 6-2, 6-4 at No. 5 and Bill Duo finished off Walker Oberg 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.
"We did a good job with our energy and focus after a bit of poor execution in not putting the doubles point away," said Head Coach Billy Pate. "We need to do a better job of finishing once we establish leads. The doubles point is so short and can come down to one poor decision - so managing momentum there is crucial. However, we bounced back well with good starts in singles and carried that positive play through to the end against a solid Yale squad."
