Women’s Water Polo bested by No. 19 Harvard and No. 7 Michigan

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 21 Princeton University women's water polo team suffered a crushing 12-11 defeat to No. 19 Harvard in double overtime, before falling to No. 7 Michigan 16-6.
vs No. 19 Harvard
Jovana Sekulic scored two straight goals to start the game, with the Tigers opening up a 3-1 lead after eight minutes of play. Sekulic would add her third of the game at the beginning of the second quarter, before Harvard scored four unanswered goals to take a 5-4 advantage at the half.
Laura Larkin would open the second half with a game-tying goal, followed by a 3-0 run by the Crimson. The Tigers would close the gap to two at 8-6 going into the fourth. Princeton proceeded to outscore Harvard 3-1 in the final eight minutes of regulation, with Kayla Yelensky scoring back-to-back goals to force the game into overtime.
Larkin would score to even things up at ten goals apiece, followed by a Yelensky goal making it 11-all and forcing sudden death. Harvard found the back of the net first, securing a 12-11 victory over the Tigers.

Princeton trailed the Wolverines 4-2 after the first quarter, with the lead expanding to 7-4 at halftime. Michigan proceeded to go on a 9-2 run in the second half to claim a 16-6 victory over the orange and black.
