Tyler and Wright Invited To NFL Rookie Mini-Camps With Jets and Seahawks

PRINCETON, N.J. – Jeremiah Tyler and Samuel Wright II have been invited to NFL rookie mini-camps with the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks, respectively.

Tyler secured two All-America honors (Phil Steele FCS Fourth-Team All-America and Second-Team Stats Perform FCS All-America) after a fantastic 2021 season. The 2021 Bushnell Cup winner for Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year produced a team-high 58 tackles, adding seven for a loss. The senior captain also had two sacks, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and six pass breakups.

"Jeremiah is one of the best players in Princeton Football history," said Charles W. Caldwell Jr. '25 Head Coach of Football Bob Surace. "He has won three Ivy titles, is a-three time All-Ivy and is a two-time Bushnell finalist. More importantly, he led our team with incredible energy every day at practice. I'm excited for him to bring his versatile skill set to the NFL and the Jets.

Wright had a stellar 2021, collecting First-Team All-Ivy and Phil Steele First-Team All-Ivy. He finished with 36 tackles, 13 for loss including 11.5 sacks, all of which were career highs. His 11.5 sacks and 13 tackles for loss were the best in the Ivy League. His signature moment was a six-tackle, three-sack, two-forced fumble performance vs. Penn to clinch the Ivy League title.

"Sam has grown as much as any player in our program," said Surace. "It's a credit to his great work ethic. I knew early in the year that although he was off the NFL radar, it was going to become an option. He is one of the great pass rushers in Princeton history, and I can't wait to see him compete in Seattle.

Princeton finished the season 9-1, earning an Ivy League title. Princeton University also hosted the bonfire, a storied celebration after the football team beats Harvard and Yale in the same season.
