Princeton Water Polo To Have Three Representatives Train With U.S. Water Polo

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Princeton water polo teams will have three representatives at the U.S. Water Polo Training Camp/Practices for the FINA World Championships this upcoming July, the organization announced today.
Ashleigh Johnson '17, an All-American selection every season she competed at Princeton, led the United States to the gold medal in women's water polo at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, becoming just the fifth Princeton athlete to ever win multiple gold medals.
Jovana Sekulic had an outstanding rookie campaign in 2022, earning first-team all-conference and CWPA Rookie of the Year accolades, with 75 goals, 71 drawn ejections, 32 steals and nine assists. Her 75 tallies are tied for seventh most in a single season in program history. The freshman put up a goal in all but one appearance this season, adding 14 hat tricks and 21 multi-goal performances.
West Temkin '26 will be an incoming freshman for the men's water polo team this fall.
The USA Women's National Team will hold two training camps in the coming month. The USA Men's National Team is back in the pool this week for training after practices in January and February. In June, both teams will announce rosters for the FINA World Championships, taking place in Budapest, Hungary June 20-July 3.
