SARASOTA – The No. 5 Princeton Tigers will have all three boats racing in Sunday's Grand Finals at the NCAA Rowing Championships.
"We couldn't be prouder of this team," said Princeton head coach Lori Dauphiny. "The semifinals were speedy and the team continues to inspire. We are excited for tomorrow to be in the grand final for all three events!"
The 1V raced out to the top time through 1,000m, but were caught by Stanford (6:22.18) and Washington (6:23.74) to finish third in its semifinal (6:24.90). The Tigers will now race in the Grand Final on at 10:24 a.m. This is the 1V's fifth Grand Final in the last seven years with the highest finish being sixth in 2016. Princeton last secured a medal in 2013, earning a silver.
Princeton's 2V secured third place in its race (6:27.95), trailing Texas (6:23.87) and Washington (6:25.19) to earn a spot in its Grand Final at 10:00 a.m. This is the 2V's third Grand Final since earning a silver in 2014.
The 4+ held second place throughout its event, crossing the finish line at 7:12.44 behind Stanford (7:08.58). This marks the 10th time in the last 12 years for the 4+ in the Grand Final at the NCAAs.
