Kate Joyce, Siniru Iheoma to Compete at USATF National Meets

PRINCETON, N.J. – Kate Joyce and Siniru Iheoma of the Princeton University women's track & field team will continue to have a presence on the national stage during the summer months, as both compete at USA Track & Field (USATF) Outdoor Championship Meets at Hayward Field, in Eugene, Oregon.
Joyce will compete at the USATF Track & Field Outdoor Championships and Iheoma at the U20 Track & Field Nationals. Both meets are qualifying meets for the World Championships and World U20 Championships. As long as they meet the world standard in their respective events, the top-three athletes in each event will qualify for the World Championships, which also take place at Hayward Field from Friday, July 15, until Sunday, July 24.
Joyce competes in the javelin at 11:30 a.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 25.
Iheoma competes in the discus on Friday, June 24, at 4:20 p.m. PT. She later competes in the discus at 4:45 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 25.
Joyce is coming off a 2022 season that saw her capture First Team All-America honors in the javelin, finishing sixth and shattering the Ivy record with a mark of 54.68 meters. She was also named the Ivy League Most Outstanding Field Performer, and earned First Team All-Ivy League honors with a best throw of 51.96 meters.
An NCAA Regional qualifier in the shot put, Iheoma was the Ivy League Outdoor Champion in the shot put and the discus, earning First Team All-Ivy League honors in both. She was also a First Team All-Ivy League honoree and the Indoor Ivy Champion in the shot put. Her mark of 15.58 meters from the 2022 Larry Ellis Invitational stands at No. 2 on the Tigers' all-time list, and her 50.36-meter mark, also from the 2022 Larry Ellis Invitational, is No. 3 all-time in discus. In indoor, Iheoma also ranks No. 4 all-time at Princeton in shot put, with a mark of 15.18 meters from 2022 Heps.
